The scientific & medical evidence in spirirtuality

Hi there,
This is about a talk to be delivered by me next wednesday & friday evenings in the Chinese Cultural Club in Ho Man Tin. The talk outline & reference list are as follows:


WHAT DOES THE BODY-MIND-SOUL TRIO ACTUALLY MEAN SCIENTIFICALLY?
Introduction:
The body-mind-soul trio is so commonly mentioned in our quests in spirituality that the authentic meanings tend to be overlooked; it is said to be better experienced than explained. But is it absolutely so? Does scientific (in the realms of modern physics & medical science) explanation or understanding in spiritual areas really hinder or in fact boost the process? (My answer is affirmative for the latter till the very last stage of Mastery—enlightenment is a feature of the soul than the mind after all.)

Part 1 (18.2.2009): the Body-Mind complex
Is there a simple model with which we may understand the trio? Do we learnt with our ‘hearts’ or our brains? Intuition, what we know about it and how is this special sense work with the heart to create our individual & collective reality? How do methods of divination (Tarot, I-Ching & others) work and what does that tell us about Fate? Are there lessons in our bodily diseases and how may we learn them?

Part 2 (20.2.2009): the Body-Soul complex
Are there scientifically sound evidences of incarnation or the concept of Karma? Who are our Guardian Angles or Higher Spirits? The stage of Mastery, what do we know about it and the how-to-achieve? Or must we strive to become Masters? Concluding remarks: related physical laws of our Universe—time & reality, the challenges in the upcoming decades & our roles.
